Kara Moore
Kara Moore is communications and outreach specialist who brings a diverse and modern approach to Concepts’ work. Her prior experience includes digital and print content creation and management in the private and non-profit sectors.
In Kara’s current role as communications assistant, she supports communication efforts on several projects including the Employer Assistance and Resource Network for Disability Inclusion (EARN), the Department of Labor’s elaws, and the Clear2Connect Coalition. Her responsibilities include writing and creating content for social media platforms, newsletters, and websites. Kara lends her editing and research skills to an array of Concepts’ projects and works closely with the president in facilitating internal communications and operations.
Prior to Concepts, Kara worked at a small international marketing company as a production assistant. In this role, she managed client and company websites, reviewed all print and digital content, compiled financial and digital engagement reports, and created video advertisements for the company.
Previously, Kara was the Editor-in-Chief of the biweekly newspaper Dateline: Downtown, where she managed a team of more than 10 writers and photographers, edited all print content, and designed the entirety of the 12 to 16-page paper. She also created social media content, press releases, articles, and photographs.
Kara graduated from the University of Houston – Downtown in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in public and rhetorical communication. During her time there, Kara worked with several non-partisan Texas-based advocacy groups, such as the Texas Freedom Network, to create content and inform college students about important issues in a public setting.
