The Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation (CSAVR) is a membership organization comprising the 78 chief administrators of state Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) agencies, which annually helps approximately one million people with disabilities across the U.S. prepare for, obtain and succeed in employment.
Since 2018, Concepts Communications has supported CSAVR in its efforts to enhance awareness about its purpose and, most importantly, how the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) profession at large benefits individuals, employers and communities across the U.S. As part of this, Concepts Communications writes, designs and produces CSAVR’s annual Investing in America publication, which highlights VR successes and state VR agencies’ vital role in America’s public workforce system. Concepts Communications also conceived and launched CSAVR’s quarterly In Focus newsletter.
In 2020, many of CSAVR’s communication activities tied into the 100-year anniversary of the nation’s VR program, referred to as “VR100.” To assist CSAVR in marking this important milestone, Concepts Communications conceived a special issue of Investing in America featuring a full-size poster with a timeline detailing major events in the program’s evolution since 1920, as well as several examples of VR at work today.
To further assist CSAVR in contributing to the “VR100,” Concepts Communications wrote a series of blog posts for the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS/RSA), the federal partner in the state-federal VR program. These posts illustrated both individual and programmatic successes from across the nation, including two focused on state VR agencies’ rapid response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Concepts Communications worked with CSAVR to refresh its organizational brand and rebrand its strategic planning process, previously known as “Vision2020.”
